Frequently Asked Questions
What type of licenses do you offer?
I offer two types of licences for the images available for purchase, which are called “Rights Managed” (RM) and “Royalty Free” (RF) licences.
All images in My Shop are available for purchase with a Royalty Free License.
If you are looking for exclusive rights or have specific requirements for your project, I also offer Rights Managed Licenses. Contact me via the Contact Me page to discuss your needs, and I’ll tailor a licensing option that suits you perfectly.
Please refer to my Purchase Terms for further details.
Do I own the images when I purchase them?
No, the Digital Content is still protected by copyright. I (or my licensors) own and retain all right, title, and interest in my images at all times, and do not assign or transfer copyright, or any other intellectual property rights in the images to you, unless expressly stated in writing in any agreement with you. All use by you of my images is otherwise subject to the terms of the respective licence purchased, as set out in my Purchase Terms.
What are the image sizes available for purchase?
My images are available in several sizes so you can choose the one that suits your needs best All images are available in Small, Medium, and Large sizes. The Large size file is generally the original. This is the best-quality option available.
Image Sizing Guide:
Small (72dpi 605 x 582 px) - is suitable for digital use.
Medium (300 dpi - 1768 x 1701 px) - is suitable for small prints and digital use.
Large (300 dpi - 4010 x 3857 px) - is generally the original file and suitable for large prints as well as digital use.
Custom: If you need a specific size, please contact me via my contact form.
In general, I recommend purchasing a Large size image and then scaling it depending on your usage.
What are the formats available for purchase?
The file format available for purchase on the site is JPEG for photographs and illustrations. If you would like to purchase a licensed image in a different format e.g. EPS for vectors, png or pdf, you can contact me via my contact form.
JPEG is a standard image format for containing lossy and compressed image data, best suited for the web and mobile devices.
PNG is a lossless compression format ideal for digital use and storing simple graphics at a small size.
PDF is the best format for files that cannot be modified but can still be easily shared and printed.
EPS is a standard file format for importing and exporting PostScript files.
What is the image DPI available for purchase?
DPI stands for dot per inch. As a rule of thumb, the larger the DPI, the better the image quality. However, which DPI you need, also depends on your use. For screens, or web use, a DPI of 72 is totally fine, whereas if you want to print an image, 300 DPI is the standard and therefore recommended.
The Medium and Large size images come in 300 DPI while the Small size images are 72 DPI, which as mentioned above, is the standard for web use.
Do you only offer digital images?
At this point in time, you can only purchase the digital images in my shop. However, these images aren't confined to screens alone. If you'd like to see them in a tangible form, I've got you covered! I can arrange prints, canvases, T-shirts, or other personalized creations for you. Prices may vary based on the print medium, size, and shipping destination. Let's discuss your vision, and I'll make it a reality. Just fill out this enquiry form.
Please also note, my website showcases only a fraction of my vast photo library. If you love my style but have something specific in mind, don't hesitate to reach out. I may have just the image you are seeking tucked away, waiting to be discovered.
