Landscapes of Western Australia - From North to South

Western Australia is the place I called home after moving there from Germany in 2007. WA, the land of the sand gropers, is the largest of the Australian states and covers an area of over 2.5 million square kilometres!!! As you can imagine, the diversity of the different landscapes is vast due to sheer size. It varies from the green and pretty lush bush of the southwest, which contains many biodiversity hotspots, to the savanna climate region in the far north. But you always find these pockets of amazing landscapes. They are mostly protected as national parks like the Kimberley region (far north) or the Karijini National Park, one of my all-time favourites to photograph, and islands like Rottnest, which carries a grim history but is such a beautiful spot.
