Quokka with fig tree fruit | Rottnest Island | WA
Quokkas are adorable little marsupials. How they could have been compared to or mistaken for a rat, is beyond me. This little fellow was chewing on a fruit of the fig tree, which is not native to Perth or Rottnest Island but had been planted there a long time ago. I am not sure if he wanted to share with me or was afraid, I would steal his meal but he wasn’t fazed by my appearance.
