Rosenberg Goanna (Heath Goanna) | Western Australia
I spotted this beautiful Rosenberg goanna (Varanus rosenbergii), or Heath goanna in a national park near Albany, WA. It is a large species of monitor lizard found across the southern regions of Australia. They are mostly so well camouflaged that you often only see them when they move, alerted by hikers like myself passing by.
